An ICP is only useful if every prospect is checked against it. Looply scores each person it finds against your ICP and drops weak fits before any outreach.
Find my prospects freeBuild your ICP in five steps
- Start from your best customers. List the five to ten who got value fastest and stayed. If you have none yet, list the ones you most want.
- Find what they share: industry, size, region, the role that bought and the problem that made them look.
- Write down who you skip. Disqualifiers save more time than any filter: too small, wrong model, competitors.
- Add timing. Pick the buying signals that say “now”: a new sales leader, a funding round, hiring for the role you support.
- Score and review. Use the scorecard below on every prospect, then check each quarter whether your A-tier accounts really convert best.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is an ideal customer profile?
An ideal customer profile (ICP) describes the companies that get the most value from what you sell and are most likely to buy: their industry, size, region, the people who buy, the problems you solve and who you should not contact.
What is the difference between an ICP and a buyer persona?
An ICP describes the company you should sell to. A buyer persona describes a person inside it, such as the Head of Sales who owns the problem. Most teams write the ICP first, then a persona for each buyer role.
What should an ICP template include?
What you sell, industries, company size, regions, buyer roles, the problems you solve, buying signals that say when to reach out, disqualifiers, and a scorecard that turns all of it into a decision.
How often should I update my ICP?
Review it every quarter, and whenever your best new customers stop matching it.
Is what I type stored?
No. The template is built in your browser; nothing you type is sent to Looply or anyone else.

Know who to invite this week
Looply finds people showing buying signals, such as a new role, a funding round or engagement with a competitor, scores them against your ideal customer profile and drafts the LinkedIn message and the email for you to review.
